Recht en averecht... - Knit and purl...

Op mijn trip naar Lissabon wou ik een makkelijk en klein breiwerkje meenemen. Deze sokken waren er ideaal voor. Al heb ik uiteindelijk enkel op de terugvlucht wat gebreid. Zonder problemen rond de houten breinaalden overigens.

On my trip to Lisbon I wanted to take a small and easy knitting project with me. These socks were ideal for it. Altough I only knitted on the flight back home, without any fuss about my wooden knitting needles.

De breiprojecten lopen hier aardig wat vertraging op door nek- en rugklachten. Ik probeer braaf op mijn houding te letten, niet te lang aan één stuk door te breien en oefeningen te doen. Maar het is een beetje aanmodderen op het moment...frusterend!

My knitting projects are held op due to neck and back troubles. I try to be a good girl by attending my posture, not to knit for a long time on end and doing exercises. Still it is muddling along for the time being...very frustrating!

Baby Booties

Zeggen dat het baby's regent is wat overdreven, toch zijn er een paar baby's op komst waar ik graag iets voor wil maken.

Saying that it is raining babies is exaggerated, although there are some babies on the way for whom I would like to knit something.

Als eerste deze babysokjes van Regina Willer. Ik vond ze er schattig uitzien en ze zijn écht klein. Ze worden op 4 naalden gebreid, te beginnen met een Magic Cast-on die over de lengte van de ondervoet loopt. Er worden meerderingen gemaakt op de vier 'hoeken' waarna je de voethoogte breit. Op de bovenvoet worden minderingen gemaakt om zo tot het beentje te komen. Erg leuke constructie!

First these baby booties by Regina Willer. I found them looking cute and they are really tiny. The're knitted on 4 needles, starting at the length of the sole with a Magic Cast-on. At the 'corners' increases are made to form the sole, then the hight of the foot is knitted. On the upper foot decreases are made to reach the leg. A very nice construction!

Weer een paar sokken uit Breien to go: een vleugje romantiek van Stephanie van der Linden. In andere publicaties wordt dit model The Scent of Lavender genoemd.

Let op de teen die in boordsteek wordt gebreid. De hielflap vergat ik in de speciale boordsteek te breien. Die instructie stond helemaal aan het begin bij de stekeninfo. Jammer dat er niet opnieuw werd naar verwezen in de beschrijving...Of ik moet gewoon beter opletten, dat kan ook natuurlijk.

Watch the ribbed toe. Sadly I forgot to knit the heelflap in de the special rib.That instruction was given in the used stitches part, but there was no referral in the actual description. A reminder for me that I need to read the instructions wholly and thouroghly...

Dit paar sokken werd gebreid met Meilenweit Soja van Lana Grossa. Een superzacht garen dat helaas niet meer in productie is.
